Pakistan Urges Indian Politicians to Avoid Dragging Country for Political Gains

Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has issued a stern warning to Indian politicians, urging them to refrain from dragging Pakistan into their political speeches for electoral gains. Baloch made these remarks during a press conference in Islamabad, where she rejected all of India’s claims over Jammu and Kashmir.

Baloch emphasized, “Indian politicians need to cease their reckless practice of dragging Pakistan into India’s populist public discourse for electoral motives.” She further stated, “We are witnessing an alarming surge in provocative statements from Indian leaders asserting unwarranted claims on Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan rejects these claims.”

The spokesperson highlighted that the claims made by Indian politicians were baseless and contrary to historical and legal facts. She added, “Historical and legal facts as well as ground realities refute India’s baseless claims over Jammu and Kashmir.”

This statement comes as Indian politicians are actively campaigning for the national elections in one of the world’s largest democracies. Baloch’s remarks serve as a reminder to Indian leaders to refrain from using Pakistan as a political tool during their election campaigns.

In response to Pakistan’s stance, India has consistently maintained that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of the country. The Ministry of External Affairs has reiterated, “No other country has a locus standi to comment on the same.”

Despite the ongoing tensions between the two countries, leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have continued to mention Pakistan in their campaign speeches. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh recently stated, “PoK was, is and will always be our (India) part.”

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also reaffirmed India’s position on PoK, stating, “We will never accept that PoK is not a part of India. It’s a united stand, it remains our stand.”

As the political rhetoric escalates during the election season, Pakistan’s call for restraint from Indian politicians underscores the need for responsible and diplomatic discourse between the two nations.
