Results from Pequot Lakes Early Bird Invite and Bulldog Invite on April 18

The Staples-Motley Cardinals had a strong showing at the Pequot Lakes Early Bird Invite, with Carter White leading the team to a fifth-place finish. White’s impressive round of 1-over 73 included three birdies and four bogeys, earning him a tie for second place individually.

Grant Bestland, Peyton Mithun, and Keller Anderson also contributed to the team’s success with scores of 82, 83, and 85 respectively. The Cardinals finished with a team score of 323, tying for fifth place in a competitive field.

Host team Pequot Lakes was led by Tollef Birkeland, who shot a 79 to finish in 12th place overall. Brainerd, Crosby-Ironton/Aitkin, Pine River-Backus, and Wadena-Deer Creek also competed in the tournament, with standout performances from players such as Louie Meyer, Connor Mink, and Jaeger Pettit.

In a separate tournament, the Pierz Pioneers placed 13th in the Bulldog Invite at Pebble Creek Golf Course. Nathan Cekalla led the team with a score of 88, followed by Ty Leidenfrost, Caden Knutson, and Shay Watercott who all shot 103s.
