Dodgers Sweep Nationals with 2-1 Victory

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over the Washington Nationals, completing a three-game sweep on Thursday. Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto led the way with six shutout innings, allowing only four hits and striking out seven.

Teoscar Hernández’s homer in the second inning gave the Dodgers an early lead, while Eddie Rosario’s impressive catch in the fifth inning added to the defensive highlights of the game. Despite a strong effort from Nationals pitcher MacKenzie Gore, the Dodgers managed to score another run in the eighth inning, securing the win.

The Nationals, who were swept for the first time this season, struggled offensively throughout the series, scoring only four runs and going 4 for 20 with runners in scoring position. Joey Meneses provided a bright spot for Washington with three hits in the game.

In other news, Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani saw his nine-game hitting streak come to an end, dropping his batting average from .371 to .358. The Dodgers will now look to continue their success as they face the Toronto Blue Jays in a three-game series, while the Nationals will take on the Miami Marlins in a four-game series.
