Salford crime scene reopens weeks after discovery of human torso | UK News
Reopening of Crime Scene Where Human Torso Was Found in Salford Nature Reserve
The discovery of a human torso in a Salford nature reserve has sparked a renewed investigation by Greater Manchester Police. The body part, found by a passer-by at Kersal Dale Wetlands on April 4, consisted of the bottom of the back, buttocks, and thigh, wrapped in clear plastic.
Specialist officers and scientists were deployed to the scene, leading to the closure of the area for further investigation. Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes reassured the public that every piece of intelligence is being thoroughly investigated to identify the victim, believed to be a white man in his 40s who had died several days before the discovery.
The investigation has led to the reopening of scenes at Great Clowes Street and the wetlands following additional reports during inquiries in the area. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Police are urging anyone with information, especially children who were playing in the area before the discovery, to come forward. The community is not expected to be disrupted by the ongoing investigation, as officers work diligently to uncover the truth behind this disturbing find.
