World Leaders Express Condolences After Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi Dies in Helicopter Crash

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash, leading to an outpouring of condolences from world leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed shock and sadness over the incident, highlighting Raisi’s contributions to strengthening the India-Iran bilateral relationship.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also condoled the deaths, recalling his meetings with the Iranian leaders earlier this year. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared a day of mourning in the country and expressed deep condolences to the Iranian nation.

Meanwhile, the Iran-backed Hamas group extended its condolences and solidarity to Iran’s Supreme Leader and government, praising Raisi and the foreign minister for their support of the Palestinian cause.

The helicopter crash, which occurred near Jolfa on the border with Azerbaijan, claimed the lives of nine people, including Raisi, Amir Abdollahian, and other prominent officials. Reports suggest that adverse weather conditions may have contributed to the tragic incident.

The world mourns the loss of these influential leaders and stands in solidarity with the people of Iran during this difficult time.
