QuikTrip to Close Midtown Atlanta Store Due to Crime Issues, Reports WSB-TV Channel 2

QuikTrip Closing Midtown Atlanta Store Due to Safety Concerns and Low Performance

QuikTrip, a popular convenience store chain, is set to close its Midtown Atlanta location on Peachtree Street next month due to safety concerns and low performance. This particular store was unique as it was the company’s first store that did not include a gas station.

In a statement released by QuikTrip, they mentioned that the decision to close the store on May 3 was based on safety concerns for both customers and employees. The company closely monitors performance metrics for each of its stores, and unfortunately, the Midtown location did not meet their expectations in terms of safety.

Rather than simply closing the store and moving on, QuikTrip is taking a different approach by focusing on creating meaningful change in the community. They are working with local organizations to address root causes of public safety issues such as homelessness, addiction, and youth services. Additionally, the company is making investments to support local law enforcement and first responders in the areas where they operate.

Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager for QuikTrip, emphasized the company’s commitment to Atlanta despite the closure of the Midtown store. She mentioned that QuikTrip is actively looking for a new location in Atlanta for a full-service store within the next 2-3 years. The company has also made significant philanthropic investments in the Atlanta area, totaling over $7 million last year.

Overall, QuikTrip sees the closure of their Midtown store as a learning experience that will help them as they continue to expand their brand. Despite this setback, the company remains dedicated to serving the Atlanta community and making a positive impact.
