Delinquency Notice Removed from Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Charity, Archewell
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charity, Archewell, has been cleared of a delinquency notice issued by California’s attorney general earlier this week. The notice warned the foundation could face fines or suspension due to unpaid fees, but it has now been resolved.
According to a statement from California’s Department of Justice, the delinquency notice has been removed and the Archewell Foundation is now “current and in good standing.” An Archewell spokesperson confirmed that all necessary payments were made promptly and in accordance with IRS procedures.
Sources revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan were unaware of the issue until they received the notice, which they initially thought was due to a missing cheque. However, they later found proof of receipt and sent another cheque to cover the annual registration renewal.
The original warning listed the charity as “delinquent” for failing to submit required reports and fees. The couple, who have two children together, previously explained that the charity’s name was inspired by their eldest child, Archie.
The news of Archewell’s clearance from the delinquency notice comes as a relief to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who continue to work on charitable initiatives through their foundation.
