Marietta College Softball Splits with Heidelberg University in Doubleheader

The Marietta College softball team had an eventful day on Saturday as they faced off against Heidelberg University in a doubleheader. The Pioneers started off with a tough 12-4 loss in game one, but quickly turned things around in game two with a 9-0 mercy rule victory.

In game two, pitcher Amelia Timko led the way with a three-hitter performance, helping the Pioneers secure the win. The team broke open the game with a five-run fourth inning, ultimately chasing Heidelberg’s pitcher Caitlin Dems.

Key players in the game included Taylor Airy, Grace Elliott, and Rachel Kazmirski, who all contributed to the offensive effort. Kazmirski’s three-run homer in the fourth inning was a highlight of the game, helping the Pioneers secure the victory.
