Impressive Runs to MIL Golf Crowns: Loree and Riglos Repeat as Champions

Seabury Hall’s Tyler Loree and Baldwin’s Anessa Riglos both secured their second consecutive Maui Interscholastic League individual golf championships at Makena Golf Club over the weekend. Loree, a junior, finished with an impressive 3-under-par total, while Riglos dominated the competition, winning by 15 strokes.

Loree expressed his excitement at winning the title two years in a row, highlighting the competitiveness of the MIL and the well-run event. He now looks forward to the state tournament at the Kaneohe Kilpper Course on Oahu, aiming to improve on his runner-up finish from last year.

Riglos, on the other hand, credited her consistency and improved putting for her success this year. She hopes to play NCAA Division I golf in the future and is motivated by the achievements of past MIL champions who have gone on to play at that level.

Both Loree and Riglos will be representing the MIL at the state tournament, where they will face tough competition from other talented golfers. The event promises to be an exciting showcase of the top high school golfers in Hawaii.
