Birkeland and the Patriots Dominate Once Again in Area Girls Golf – Brainerd Dispatch

Pequot Lakes Golfer Genevieve Birkeland Wins Granite Ridge Conference Meet

Pequot Lakes junior Genevieve Birkeland continued her winning streak by shooting a 3-over-75 to claim victory at the Granite Ridge Conference meet held at Spring Brook Golf Course. This marks Birkeland’s third win of the season, showcasing her exceptional talent on the golf course.

Birkeland’s teammate, Charlee Sullivan, also put up a strong performance, finishing just two strokes behind with a third-place score of 77. Annie Neva of Pequot Lakes secured fourth place with an 86, contributing to the team’s overall success as they clinched the top spot with a 20-stroke lead over second-place Albany.

In addition to Pequot Lakes’ impressive showing, Little Falls’ Imagine Hines and Kari Leblanc led the Pierz Pioneers to a third-place finish. Hines shot a 92 to secure eighth place, while Leblanc fired a 93 for ninth place. Macey LeBlanc of Pierz finished 13th with a score of 99.

The team scores for the meet were as follows: 1-Pequot Lakes 338, 2-Albany 358, 3-Pierz 402, 4-St. Cloud Cathedral 410, 5-Milaca 411, 6-Mora 455, 7-Little Falls (incomplete).

Genevieve Birkeland was named the individual medalist with her impressive score of 75, solidifying her position as a standout player in the conference. The competition showcased the talent and dedication of these young golfers as they continue to excel in their sport.

The next event for Little Falls, Pequot Lakes, and Pierz will be held at Crosswoods Golf Course at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. Stay tuned for more updates on these talented athletes as they compete in upcoming meets.
