However, a storm system with heavy rain forced play to be suspended for 2 1/2 hours, leading to a Monday finish.
Scheffler, who was 20 under with three holes remaining when play was halted, was on the verge of winning for the fourth time in five tournaments. U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark made a strong charge early in the round, but a double bogey derailed his momentum as he finished at 15-under 269.
