Trump and DeSantis reunite in Miami for first discussion since Florida governor exited GOP primary

Former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis Meet in Miami

Former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis met for a private meeting in Miami on Sunday, marking their first conversation since DeSantis dropped out of the GOP primary in January. The meeting was arranged through Trump’s longtime friend and luxury real estate developer, Steve Witkoff, at the request of DeSantis.

DeSantis, who was playing golf at the Shell Bay Club, agreed to have breakfast with Trump during their meeting. Additionally, Witkoff is hosting a fundraiser for Trump in Miami next Sunday, as reported by CNN.

DeSantis had previously endorsed Trump in the Republican primary but had not appeared with him at any campaign events since. However, he recently told donors and supporters that he would help fundraise for Trump, indicating a renewed partnership between the two politicians.

DeSantis has been keeping in touch with supporters from his presidential campaign, including donors and leaders in early nominating states, as he considers a potential 2028 bid for the presidency. In a leaked recording reviewed by multiple outlets, DeSantis mentioned that he has not ruled out any future political endeavors but has no intention of serving as vice president.

The private meeting between Trump and DeSantis has sparked speculation about their future political plans and potential collaborations. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
