RVBusiness Highlights Go RVing’s Annual Media Summit Focusing on RV Lifestyle

Go RVing Media Summit Showcases RV Lifestyle to Journalists in San Diego

The annual Go RVing Media Summit in San Diego continues to gain traction with members of the media, showcasing the RV lifestyle to journalists from various outlets. This year’s event, held at the San Diego KOA from April 30 to May 2, marked the third annual Media Summit, with ten journalists in attendance.

The goal of the Media Summit is to introduce media members, many of whom have little to no prior RVing experience, to the world of RV travel and camping. Monika Geracia, director of public relations and communications for Go RVing, described the event as “an introduction to the RV market.”

To give journalists a firsthand experience of RVing, Go RVing partnered with RVshare to provide trailer trailers for the journalists to camp in during the three-day, two-night event. The trailers were set up in advance, and the media members received an “RV 101” lesson on using the RVs from KOA campground owner Clint Bell.

Throughout the event, journalists had the opportunity to speak with key executives from top RV manufacturers and tour a variety of RV models. Executives from Winnebago, THOR, and Forest River were present, showcasing models such as travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class B and Class A motorhomes.

The Media Summit has resulted in positive RV news coverage, with media outlets like the San Diego Fox TV affiliate filming TV spots at the event. Bloomberg and Motor Week have also provided coverage at previous Media Summits.

In addition to building relationships with journalists, Go RVing organizes fun activities for attendees at each Media Summit. This year, journalists could participate in a 10-mile bike ride with eBikes provided by Buzz Bikes.

Overall, the Media Summit serves as a platform to showcase the diversity and appeal of the RV market to journalists, with the hope of inspiring them to share their experiences with their audiences.
