Suspect Identified in Shooting Death of Deputy Tobin Bolter in Boise
Tragedy struck in Boise over the weekend as 65-year-old Dennis Mulqueen is suspected of shooting and killing Deputy Tobin Bolter. The incident occurred Saturday night near Overland Road and Raymond Street in Boise, leaving the community in shock.
Court documents have revealed that Mulqueen had a history of nonviolent crimes dating back to 2007, including open container violations, controlled substance possession, and theft. His most recent arrest was on Sept. 12, 2023, for a DUI, where he was found with an open container of alcohol and pills with a white powdery substance.
Despite being released later that month with pretrial drug and alcohol monitoring requirements, Mulqueen repeatedly breached his release conditions, leading to a warrant for his arrest the night Deputy Bolter pulled him over.
Authorities are now asking the public for any information on Mulqueen’s whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 and ask to speak with a Boise police detective.
This tragic event has left the community mourning the loss of Deputy Tobin Bolter and seeking justice for his senseless death. Stay updated on the latest news from around the Treasure Valley and the Gem State by following KTVB’s YouTube playlist and downloading the KTVB News Mobile App.
