Streaming Records Shattered by Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ on Spotify, Amazon, and Apple Music
Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ Breaks Streaming Records on Spotify, Amazon, and Apple
Taylor Swift is once again proving why she is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has shattered streaming records across Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music. In just one day, the album garnered a staggering 300 million streams on Spotify alone, making it the most-streamed album in a single day in just 12 hours.
Not stopping there, Amazon and Apple also reported that Swift’s album broke records on their platforms as well. Apple Music declared it the biggest pop album of all time by first-day streams, while Amazon Music revealed that “The Tortured Poets Department” became their most-streamed album worldwide in its first week.
The album’s opening track, “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone),” also made waves by becoming the most-streamed song in a single day on Spotify. This success comes as no surprise to Swift’s fans, as she had previously hinted at the album’s release back in February while accepting a Grammy for her 2022 album, “Midnights.”
Swift’s dominance on streaming platforms is nothing new, as her previous albums have also broken records. Her 10th studio album, “Midnights,” held the Spotify title before “The Tortured Poets Department” took over. Additionally, her fourth rerecorded album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” set a record for the most-streamed artist in a single day on Spotify in 2023.
In 2023, Swift was crowned Spotify’s most-streamed artist, accumulating over 26.1 billion streams worldwide. With her latest album’s success, it’s clear that Taylor Swift continues to reign supreme in the music industry.
