Americans Choose Denzel Washington as Their Celebrity President

Americans Speculate on Celebrities Running for President: Denzel Washington Tops Poll

In a recent survey conducted by Talker Research on behalf of StudyFinds, Americans were asked which celebrities they would like to see run for president in the 2024 election. Topping the list was Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, with 15% of respondents expressing their support for the “Training Day” star.

Following closely behind was former WWE champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who garnered 13% of the vote. Rounding out the top three was beloved actor Tom Hanks, with 12% of respondents backing him for a potential presidential run.

Other celebrities who made the list included Clint Eastwood, George Clooney, and Oprah Winfrey, each receiving support from 10% or more of those surveyed. Surprisingly, brothers Jake and Logan Paul found themselves at the bottom of the list, with only 2% of respondents expressing interest in their political aspirations.

While the idea of a celebrity president may seem appealing to some, the survey also revealed that a significant portion of Americans (36%) were uninterested in voting for any of the celebrity candidates listed. Additionally, only 28% of respondents said they would be somewhat more likely to vote for a celebrity candidate, with 52% stating that it would not affect their vote at all.

Despite the popularity of celebrities in American culture, the survey found that the majority of respondents (73%) do not believe that fame is an important requisite for running for office. Similarly, only 21% of respondents said they would be more inclined to vote for a candidate with a large social media following.

Overall, the survey provided insight into the public’s attitudes towards celebrity politicians and highlighted the diverse opinions on the role of fame and influence in politics. While some may dream of seeing Denzel Washington or Dwayne Johnson in the White House, it remains to be seen whether their star power would translate into political success.
