Andrew Garfield could be starring in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming Jesus film

Martin Scorsese’s New Jesus Film Might Feature Actor Andrew Garfield, Sources Say

Martin Scorsese’s new Jesus film may feature actor Andrew Garfield, known for his role as Spider-Man, according to Variety. The film is an adaptation of Shūsaku Endō’s book A Life of Jesus, and while Scorsese has not confirmed Garfield’s role, the two previously collaborated on the movie “Silence.”

In a 2017 interview with Relevant, Garfield shared how he prepared for his role in “Silence” by studying the Bible and meeting with priests. Scorsese also mentioned that Miles Teller might have a role in the upcoming film, with production set to begin later this year.

Garfield, who has expressed interest in films dealing with faith and spirituality, told Vanity Fair in 2022 that questions of faith and spirituality are what draw him to certain projects. Despite feeling “confused” about his beliefs, Garfield finds the exploration of life and death through spirituality to be endlessly fascinating.

The new Jesus film is expected to be thought-provoking and entertaining, with Scorsese aiming to create something unique and different. As details about the project continue to emerge, fans eagerly anticipate the collaboration between Garfield and Scorsese once again on the big screen.
