Man from New York City indicted on hate-crime charges for allegedly assaulting strangers at random

Man Indicted on Hate Crime Charges for Series of Assaults in New York City

The streets of New York City have been rocked by a series of hate-motivated attacks, with one man at the center of it all. Skiboky Stora, a 40-year-old Brooklyn resident, has been indicted on hate crime charges for assaulting, stalking, and harassing strangers in a disturbing spree of anti-female, anti-white, and antisemitic incidents.

The most recent incident that caught the public’s attention occurred on March 25, 2024, when Stora randomly attacked a 23-year-old woman in the Chelsea neighborhood. The victim suffered pain and swelling on the left side of her head as a result of the assault. This attack was just one in a string of violent incidents that Stora is accused of perpetrating.

Prosecutors revealed that Stora’s violent behavior dates back to September of 2023, with two previous assaults in the same neighborhood. In one instance, he elbowed a 17-year-old student in the neck while making derogatory remarks. In another incident, he assaulted a 37-year-old woman, causing pain and bruising to her shoulder.

But perhaps the most chilling incident occurred on November 18, when Stora targeted a husband and wife walking their dogs near Union Square. After tearing down posters of Israeli hostages, Stora unleashed a tirade of anti-white and antisemitic threats and insults, including the chilling words, “Die, Jews, die!”

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg condemned Stora’s actions, stating that he allegedly committed a series of hate-motivated incidents based on gender, race, and religion. Stora was arraigned on charges including assault and stalking as hate crimes, and he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In a defiant statement outside the courtroom, Stora accused the district attorney of corruption and claimed that there was no probable cause for his arrest. Representing himself in court, Stora faces a court date on August 6 to answer to the charges against him.

The shocking nature of these hate crimes has left the community on edge, with many calling for justice to be served. As Stora’s case unfolds, the city of New York grapples with the disturbing reality of hate-fueled violence on its streets.
