LPGA Tour’s JM Eagle LA Championship: Kim and Green Share Lead Despite Tough Conditions
Title: Grace Kim and Hannah Green Share Lead at JM Eagle LA Championship Despite Tough Conditions
In a challenging day at Wilshire Country Club, Grace Kim managed to maintain her share of the lead in the LPGA Tour’s JM Eagle LA Championship despite a 5-over 76 score. The difficult conditions, including bumpy greens and tricky wind, tested the skills of the players on the tree-lined layout.
Kim, who was four strokes ahead entering the day, found herself tied with defending champion Hannah Green at 7-under 206. Green, who saved par with a clutch putt on the 18th hole, expressed the difficulty of the day but remained optimistic about her performance.
Maja Stark, who was playing alongside Kim in the final group, finished with a 73 and was one stroke behind the leaders along with Jin Hee Im and Esther Henseleit. South Korean player Im had an impressive back-nine 30 to card a 63, the best round of the day.
Despite some setbacks during her round, Kim remained focused on each shot and tried to stay in the present moment. Green, on the other hand, struggled with the firm and bouncy greens but managed to make a strong comeback on the back nine.
Stark, who finished second in the previous week’s tournament, was also in contention for the lead. With top-ranked Nelly Korda withdrawing from the competition, the field was wide open for a new champion to emerge.
The battle for the title at the JM Eagle LA Championship is heating up as the players face the challenging conditions and tough competition. Stay tuned for the final round to see who will come out on top in this exciting tournament.
