Local Runner Jonathan Meyer Finds Success and Community Through Running

Jonathan Meyer, a local runner with a passion for the sport, has found success and a sense of community through his love of running. From his early days of participating in 5k races to now competing collegiately, Meyer’s dedication to running has taken him on a journey filled with friendships and accomplishments.

Despite not being the fastest runner in high school, Meyer’s positive attitude and hard work caught the attention of his coaches, who named him a captain of the team. As a senior, Meyer started a YouTube channel to share his team’s experiences, gaining recognition in the Iowa running community.

Graduating with pride and recognition for his YouTube channel, Meyer’s future in running seemed uncertain until a fellow talented runner, Lance Sobaski, reached out with an offer to run at Wartburg College.

Now, Meyer finds himself at a desk in Waverly, reflecting on his journey and the impact running has had on his life.
