Kellogg Golf Team Finishes Fifth at 2A State Tournament
The Kellogg High School boys’ golf team put on an impressive performance at the 2A State Tournament held at Circling Raven Golf Course in Worley. Despite facing tough competition, the Wildcats managed to secure a fifth-place finish overall.
Compass Charter of Meridian claimed the boys’ team title, while Ambrose, also from Meridian, emerged victorious in the girls’ division. Junior Brodie Robinson led the way for Kellogg, narrowly missing out on the tenth medalist spot after a playoff.
The team scores reflected the competitive nature of the tournament, with Compass Charter finishing on top with a total score of 691. Kellogg finished strong with a total score of 734, showcasing their talent and determination on the course.
In the individual standings, Palmer Coleman from Priest River claimed the top spot with a score of 151. Beau Jones from Lakeside followed closely behind with a score of 153. The competition was fierce, but the Wildcats held their own and made their mark at the state level.
Overall, the Kellogg High School boys’ golf team’s performance at the 2A State Tournament was commendable, and they have certainly made their school and community proud with their dedication and skill on the golf course.
