Former Cop Elias Huizar Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound After Allegedly Carrying Out Double Murder

The shocking and tragic story of former cop Elias Huizar has left a community in mourning after he allegedly carried out a double murder on the same day he was scheduled to appear in court for child rape charges.

The 39-year-old Huizar, accused of killing his ex-wife and teen girlfriend, led Oregon State Police on a chase on Interstate 5 near Eugene before ultimately dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The chase ended in a crash, but thankfully no one else was injured in the exchange of gunfire.

Huizar’s 1-year-old son, who was allegedly kidnapped by him, is now safe in police custody. The man had a history of legal troubles, including charges of second-degree rape and furnishing alcohol to minors related to his involvement with a teenager.

The horrifying events unfolded just before 3:30 pm when Huizar allegedly shot his ex-wife, Amber Rodriguez, outside the elementary school where she worked. Police later discovered another victim of homicide inside Huizar’s home, identified as his 17-year-old girlfriend Angelica Santos.
