Emma Raducanu to Face Karolina Pliskova in First Round of Madrid Open: Watch Live on Sky Sports

Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, is set to make her return to the court on Wednesday as she faces off against Karolina Pliskova in the first round of the Madrid Open. Raducanu, who made it to the quarter-finals of last week’s event in Stuttgart, will be looking to continue her impressive form on the clay surface.

Last week, Raducanu won four matches in a row, including victories over Angelique Kerber and Linda Noskova. Despite a tough defeat to world No 1 Iga Swiatek in the quarter-finals, Raducanu showed great determination and skill on the court.

Pliskova, a two-time Grand Slam finalist and former world No 1, will provide a tough challenge for Raducanu in their upcoming match. Currently ranked 46th in the world, Pliskova has a wealth of experience and will be looking to make her mark in Madrid.

If Raducanu is able to secure a win in her opening match, she will face 17th seed Veronika Kudermetova in the second round. Fellow Brit Katie Boulter, who has been given a first-round bye, will also be in action and could potentially face second seed Aryna Sabalenka in the third round.

Tennis fans can catch all the action live on Sky Sports, which will be broadcasting over 4,000 matches from more than 80 tournaments on the ATP and WTA Tours in 2024. Non-Sky subscribers can stream live matches with a NOW Sports Day or Month Membership.
